Twin Lakes CampTHE 2011 CAMPING SEASON

Twin Lakes Camp serves“ Special Needs” and “At Risk” children and youth from the Midwest States of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa and many others. There are approximately 38 million people between the ages of 7 and 28 who suffer from a disability. Campers come from diverse ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Twin Lakes Camp provides “Special Needs” and "At Risk" children and young adults the opportunity to interact and socialize with their peers. They learn new social skills and participate in an enjoyable, caring and nurturing camp experience. Our campers when given the opportunity rise to the challenge and do more for themselves than they might otherwise do.

There is a large group of children and young adults that are “at risk” of serious consequences from drugs, gangs, prostitution, homelessness and abuse. We are developing programs to help these also. We are working with community family services, the Judiciary, park districts, churches and service organizations to provide camp programs.

We host weeklong and weekend or single day outings for Special Recreation Associations, youth groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and church or civic youth groups.
